How this works

Who Owns Each Part of the Price

This desk does not price anything. Understanding what that means is easier if the money is split into the parts that belong to different people, because only one of those parts is knowable from here and it happens to be zero.

The split

Part Whose it is Can this desk state it
The fare for the runThe operator who takes the jobNo. It is their tariff and they set it per job
Anything added for waitingThe operatorNo
Anything added for a second stop or a moved addressThe operatorNo
A tolled road, where one is usedThe road authority, billed on by the operatorNo
What this desk charges the travelerThis deskYes: nothing, ever, at any point

One row of five has an answer from here. That is not modesty, it is the actual shape of the arrangement, and everything else on this page follows from it.

Why no figure appears anywhere on this site

Because a desk with no operator agreement has no tariff, and a printed number would be one somebody invented.

That is worth saying flatly because it is not the usual practice. It is common in this trade to publish a card of starting prices by size of car or by zone. Where a desk actually has agreements those numbers are real. Where it does not, they are a guess dressed as a rate, and the person who finds out is the traveler.

This desk has no agreements. So it prints nothing, and quotes what operators actually answer.

What a quote is, then

A range, in writing, from the answers that came back for that specific request on that specific day, with what each answer covers and what it does not. It costs nothing and commits nobody.

It is worth less than a fixed price would be, and it has the advantage of being true.

What moves an answer

Not printed as a table of factors, because that would be this desk describing the operator's reasoning for it. The honest version is: the twelve things in the intake are what an operator is answering from, and each entry there says why it matters to the answer.
