The money
What a Quote Is Built From
There is no price list on this page and no figure anywhere on this site. That is a deliberate decision with a reason, and the reason is worth more to a traveler than a table of numbers somebody made up.
Why there is no table here
A desk that has agreements with operators can publish what those agreements produce, and the numbers are real.
This desk has no such agreements. It asks, per request, and reports what comes back. Publishing a card of starting rates would mean printing a tariff it does not own and cannot hold anybody to, and a traveler who plans around it discovers the difference at the curb.
So there is nothing here to plan around except the truth about how the money splits.
Where the money goes
| Part | Whose it is | Stated here |
|---|---|---|
| The fare for the run | The operator | No, it is their tariff |
| Waiting beyond the expected start | The operator | No |
| An added stop, or a moved end address | The operator | No |
| A tolled road where one is used | Billed on by the operator | No |
| This desk's charge to a traveler | This desk | Nothing, at any point |
What a quote actually contains
- A range, not a number, because several operators answer and they do not agree.
- What each answer covers, in the operator's own terms as reported.
- What it does not cover, named, so nothing is discovered later.
- The date it was given, because an answer is about one day.
It is free, it commits nobody, and it expires quietly rather than converting into anything.
What shapes an answer
The twelve entries in the intake. Each one says in its own words why an operator cannot answer without it, which is a more honest account than a list of price factors this desk would be inventing on the operator's behalf.
No prepayment is taken here, and that is not the flag
Nothing is paid to this desk at any point, by anybody, and no page of this site carries a field for a card. Whether an operator takes something in advance is the operator's own arrangement, which is why nothing paid in advance is not stated on the table of what this site claims. Those two sentences are different and only the first one is this desk's to make.
